Where to invest your marketing budget in 2021

The future is set to shine bright on all things small, niche, unique, handmade, crafty, independent (and all things in between) and we couldn’t be happier. But, now is the time to take action and invest in future proofing your brand against the many economical challenges we are all set to face in a post covid/brexit world.

At LBC, we’ve identified 3 areas for you, the small business community, to prioritise and invest in during 2021, that will undoubtedly support your future growth and success in ABUNDANCE; introducing the 3 D’s.

  • Digital
    • The pandemic has accelerated the shift towards a more digital world. 1.8 billion people worldwide shop online and social media usage has increased by 87% since lockdown began. With the future of covid still uncertain, now is the time to invest in your digital platforms, including your social media output, website and email marketing, to ensure your business runs seamlessly. The internet never sleeps!
  • Data
    • Data is king! Now is the time to set up compliant and efficient data capturing tools so that you have a wealth of customer data at your fingertips to turn in to value. You will be able to use your data to communicate more effectively with your audience via email marketing, based on their needs, desires, behaviours, geo-demographics and so forth. Such insights help you to create personalised marketing strategies to generate the highest possible return. This complex world is something we are well versed in and can support your business with.
  • Design
    • “If you think a good design is expensive, you should look at the cost of a bad design”. Whilst there is nothing wrong with using free tools like Canva to create your marketing output to save on costs, it’s important to establish a professional brand aesthetic from day one. Graphic design is such an incredible skill and talent and with the right expertise, your designer will help you to create a stand-out brand that will go the distance. Throw-away, DIY design is not something we’d ever recommend to any reputable small business. Your marketing and design investment will totally transform your business and will contribute your brand equity.
